Shayna Hutchens, Dayton High School Youth and Government Advisor is pleased to announce that Kylee Laughlin has been selected to participate in Citizen University’s 2019 Youth Collaboratory. The Youth Collaboratory consists of 24 students from around the country who who are passionate about civic engagement and making a positive change in their communities and country. The Youth Collaboratory is one component of Citizen University’s Youth Power Project, a multi-year effort supported by a grant from the Ford Foundation to empower and connect a rising generation of civic leaders and doers.

Kylee will travel (expenses paid) to Malibu, California, Chicago and Washington DC in 2019 to work with her peers and adult mentors to complete leadership and civic projects here in Dayton. This opportunity dovetails nicely with her work and participation in YMCA’s Youth and Government and Kiwanis’ Road to Leadership program, both co-sponsored by Dayton School District.

Please congratulate Kylee for her accomplishment, and as the year progresses, as about her experiences in the Collaboratory and civic projects here in Dayton. Kylee will continue to find her voice and vision as the year goes on.
