The following is a list of scholarships that are available to Dayton High School Students (and in some cases DHS Alumni). For more information or application materials please contact Jana Eaton, Scholarship Coordinator, in the administration office at 509-382-2543 or email janae@daytonsd.org.

BEN AND SUE DICKINSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

JOHN HINCHLIFF/PHEASANTS FOREVER SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating senior of Dayton High School who is in good standing and intends to continue their education at a college, university, or trade school in a field related to natural resource management (e.g., wildlife management, forestry) or agriculture.  Students pursuing a degree in other fields will be considered for this scholarship.

COLUMBIA REA JEFF MERIDITH LINEMAN SCHOLARSHIP
Applicant must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a recognized lineman training school offering an Electrical Lineworker Program (ELP) which prepares students to work for utility and power line construction companies as entry-level line workers. It is not necessary for the candidate or their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) to be a member of Columbia REA.

KIWANIS CITIZENSHIP AWARD
Each year the Kiwanis Club of Dayton awards a Citizenship Award in the amount of $500 to at least one Dayton High School graduating senior boy and girl or past Citizenship Award winners who meet the application criteria. The award winners must intend to pursue post-high school training and meet the standards set forth by the governing committee of Kiwanis.

HOMESTEAD SCHOLARSHIP
1. Be a graduating senior of Dayton High School or Alumni with a need for financial assistance to continue with school.
2. Be accepted for fall enrollment at an accredited two or four year college or university in the State of Washington.
3. Be planning to pursue a course of study in Health Services, Education or Agriculture.
4. Must have maintained a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or be showing academic improvement.

AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITY WOMEN SCHOLARSHIP
Available to a Dayton High School graduating senior girl planning to attend or already attending a college or university. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.4.

DAYTON LIONS CLUB ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is available to any graduating senior of Dayton High School. However, in an attempt to distribute financial assistance for college to as many students as possible, this scholarship will not be granted to any student who has been granted other scholarships that cover essentially full funding for all 4 years of college.

DAYTON LIONS CLUB VOCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP
The applicant must be planning on attending or already accepted by a  vocational/technical school; defined as a two year or less vocational/technical program.

DAYTON LIONS CLUB CONTINUED EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarship is available to any graduate of Dayton High School who has subsequently completed at least one scholastic year (2 semesters or 3 quarters) in an accredited academic or vocational program.

2021 SMART CHOICES SCHOLARSHIP
The Smart Choices Scholarship Program recognizes graduating seniors from WIAA member high schools for excellence in athletics/activities, academics, leadership and community service throughout their high school careers by awarding two (2) $5,000 scholarships and eight (8) $1,000 scholarships annually.

ARNOLD FREDRICKSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
The Scholarship is open to graduating seniors and alumni planning to pursue a higher degree of education in the field of music. Graduating seniors will be given preference over alumni. In the event that a current year graduating student does not qualify based on the criteria, the scholarship may be open to Dayton Alumni students who are pursuing a music degree or course of study (i.e. possibly even students who have previously received the scholarship and are continuing their course of study).
