School Closure Information/Directions

The Dayton School District sends out emergency notifications and updates through several different methods and are listed as follows:

Alerts System
This is a new feature that has been added this year that allows us to send texts, emails, robo calls and voice recorded messages to parents, guardians and students. Please make sure that the elementary & MS/HS offices have your current phone numbers and email on file for your child/children. This system will be used in the event of delays, closures, cancelations and other important information that the District needs to convey for any situation that arises.

District App
The Dayton School District App is found in the App Store on your cell phone or device. Notifications have been sent through the Live Feed on our Website and can be pushed out to cell phones and devices as well. To get the push notifications from the Dayton School District Website:

  • Download the app onto your phone (use whatever you normally use- i.e. Google play, APP Store, etc.  Search for Dayton School District, WA (Apptegy).  Once installed you will need to create an account with your email and a password.

  • If you have already done this and you still didn't get the notification you need to check the settings.  Make sure you have connected your mobile device/ email/ etc.

  • Once you have the connections, you can click on settings.

  • You will need to agree to get notifications, you don't go to the notifications menu (kind of a frustrating design choice), you go to the settings menu. Then, be sure that both a) "Turn on Notifications" is set to “on” AND b) you've selected "District" under "Receive notifications from."
