It's like "Life" the board game! GEAR UP has partnered again with Josh Bergman at WSECU to bring back the Reality Fair. Josh brings all the materials, and we, the community, are responsible for recruiting volunteers.
How do they play? Students will be assigned a career with a set salary. They will move between 10 different stations while they make real-life choices and decide what a need vs. a want: which cell phone, what kind of car they will drive, will they rent or buy a house, what kind of groceries they will purchase, and the random "life happens"...unexpected car repairs, medical bills, or maybe cash from Grandma for your birthday! Students will be making real-life choices and balancing a budget.
Who's the winner? Which students will have cash in their savings, and who will be in debt? Come, volunteer and find out!
