On Wednesday, Dec. 7 the WIAA District 9 1B League voted to welcome both Dayton and Waitsburg into their league as individual schools beginning with the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. This means Dayton will have all the same opportunities for sports we have had in the past and will be part of a league playing schools at a similar competitive level and much closer to home. The league will comprise two divisions; Wheat and Grape. The teams in each division will be as follows.
Wheat: Colton, Garfield-Palouse, Oakesdale, Pomeroy, St John/Endicott/Lacrosse, Tekoa-Rosalia, and Dayton.
Grape: Desales, Liberty Christian, Prescott, Sunnyside Christian, Touchet, Yakama Nation, and Waitsburg.
Planning is also already underway for Spring camps for both volleyball and football as we prepare to usher in a new era of Dayton Bulldog Athletics. We are also posting coaching positions as needed for anyone interested in taking on those roles.
